Go For A Gondola Ride In A Venice Canal With Google Maps

Two cool tricks you can do

Most of you have used Google Maps. You may have changed to Street View to check out landmarks for your drive in the area.

Search for “Venice Italy Grand Canal” and zoom in by clicking the “+” key a few times.

Next drag and drop “PEGMAN” which is the little icon in the bottom right corner over the middle of a canal. You will see a blue line in the center of the canal when you can drop “PEGMAN”. Make sure you drop in a “vertical view” of the canal or you may miss.

Now you can move the view around the canal just as you would move on a regular Google Map. In Google Maps, move your mouse over the image and you will see the "Direction Arrow". Click on that to move

Bonus Fun: Search “Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.” Drag “PEGMAN” to the building and he/she will be inside the building. Try this in other places.
